The Kwenderana Community Maize Garden, funded by Kwenderana Scotland was harvest on 27th May and 31 church members worked from early morning until 5pm gathering the maize and taking it by lorry to the church hall where it will now be shelled, bagged and stored to feed the needy when their maize stores run out. They harvested 7 tonnes of maize which was amazing as they had very heavy rain and then drought which ruined many farmers maize crops. Our chairman Songerelwayo Banda planted tomato seeds in his garden and has now transplanted the seedlings in the kwenderana garden.
