Coronavirus Pandemic Saturday, 18th April

Psalm 16; Song of Solomon 8:6-7; John 20:11-20

 These really are great readings. I don’t want to say too much about them – just to let them speak for themselves. The one from Song of Songs is often recited at weddings, and Noli me tangere (Touch me not) by Titian painted in 1514 is something I’ve been thinking about quite a lot recently during these strange times when we’re not allowed to even shake hands, let alone hug one another if we’re from different households.

When all the National Gallery paintings were evacuated from their Trafalgar Square premises during WWII for safety’s sake, the public were asked to vote for ones they would like to see on a rota basis one at a time for the duration; and this was top of the list. Enjoy the picture below.
