At present there is a weekly choir rehearsal from September to end of May, and an anthem and introit at every service during those months. In addition the Choir regularly contributes to the prayers, and frequently provide a sung Blessing at the close of the service. During the Summer ‘recess’ the church service still begins with an introit from the choir.
In addition to this support during worship the Choir undertake a regular programme of annual concerts. ‘Music for Christmas’ provides a mix of well-known Carols and specially selected pieces reflecting the Christmas story. The biennial ‘Summer Serenade’ performed in May provides a wide range of music and is always guaranteed to provide great entertainment for a packed audience in the Church Hall. The Choir are also invited to provide entertainment at a Guild evening in December.
From September 2015 the Choir has been under new direction provided jointly by organist Allan Morrison and choir-mistress Rosanne Brackenridge. It is anticipated that the Choir will continue to grow in strength and look forward to to providing musical support to the Church for many years to come. If you would like to get involved please contact Allan, Rosanne or any member of the Choir at any time.
